Student's Accommodation Notice

Food: Food will be provided for all TruHacks participants. 

Project Work: Students are expected to work on their projects in their assigned Baldwin Hall location.

Sleep: Students are encouraged to bring their own air mattresses, sleeping bags, and/or pillows. Students will be allowed to sleep in the Baptist Student Union (BSU), 110 W Normal St, Kirksville, MO 63501, starting at 10 pm on Friday, March 23rd, until the event concludes on Sunday, March 24th. Any student wishing to work on their project will be allowed to stay in Baldwin Hall, but if the student wants to sleep, they MUST go to the BSU. Event volunteers will be readily available to assist students with locating the BSU and arranging their bedding/mattresses. 

Event Conclusion: Students MUST have all their items out of the BSU by the conclusion of TruHacks at 12 pm on Sunday, March 24th. Failure to do so may result in a fine. 

This event is completely virtual for high school participants so they will be responsible for their own accommodations and will participate from their own location. Undergraduate students can register as virtual participants as well if they are located outside of Missouri or have another valid reason. 

Categories To Participate In

Beginners

  • This category is open to juniors and seniors in high school, as well as college/university students with minimal coding experience.

  • Participants will submit a working project adhering to the theme. All projects MUST align with the theme.

  • Participants of this category are allowed to simultaneously participate in the Business category, but not in the Developers category.
  • High Schoolers can only participate virtually. After the sign-up is complete, details for the platform will be emailed.

Developers

  • This category is targeted towards intermediate/advanced coders in college/university.
  • Participants will submit a working project adhering to the theme. All projects MUST align with the theme.
  • Participants in the Developers category are allowed to simultaneously participate in the Business category, but not in the Beginners category.

Business

  • This category is targeted towards aspiring CEOs and Entrepreneurs.It is open to all university and high school students.
  •  Students participating in this category do not need any coding experience.
  • Participants will be required to present a 2 – 5 minute-long pitch.
  • Students participating in this category can participate in the developers or beginners(but not both) categories simultaneously.

Mentorship Program

Mentors are available for participants in the Beginners and Business categories. If you receive help from a mentor, mention it in your submission so you can receive extra credit on your project.

0.2. High Schoolers can only participate virtually. Virtual participants must submit the ticket pdf with their project to be counted as checked-in.
